Question by : What licenses do i need for my boat and fishing?
a 16 foot boat with a small electric motor

and a license for an adult and a 13 year old

i live in British Columbia canada.

How much does it cost and what are the regulations?

i know in the US, you need a fishing license after 13 i believe. boating im not sure tho..

Could you tell me please?

Westport has good fishing but you are always fighting the waves. Where would be the best place to catch Salmon (preferably King), best regulations, cheapest harboring, and the best ocean conditions? I live in Thurston County and can fly an airplane (singe prop) to get there after leaving the boat in the harbor.

PORT ORCHARD MARINA WOULD BE A GOOD SPOT, THE KINGS ARE ON THEIR WAY DOWN FROM THE SAN JUAN ISLANDS, BREMERTON AIRPORT IS LESS THAN TWENTY MINUTES AWAY, APPROX SIX MILES NEAH BAY OR SEIKU WOULD BE GREAT, BUT I DON’T KNOW HOW CLOSE AN AIRPORT WOULD BE, OR MOORAGE, THERE IS GOOD FISHING AROUND THIS AREA THAT IS EASY ACCESS FROM PORT ORCHARD, LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A DECKHAND WHILE YOU FISH,

does anyone have information on old wooden (lapstrake) luhrs sportfishing boats? i’m looking for something made in the 60′s between 25 and 30 feet.

i know it’s pretty specific and most of them have since been turned into firewood, but i figured i’d try. thanks

Question by pancakes & hyrup: Anyone heard of renting outboard boat motors only?
I’m going on a fishing/camping trip and need an extra boat motor, but obviously they are fairly expensive, even used ones. I am curious to see if anyone has heard of marinas or motor sports stores RENTING outboard motors. The trip will be in northern Michigan.

i’ve never heard of renting boat motors but yeah you can ask a marina they might have a couple laying around they might charge it like renting a boat.

Question by VR2: if someone wants to volunteer on sportfishing boat or commerical fishing boat do they need a MMD LIKE THE CREW
i always wanted to experience want it was like to work on a merchant vessel if i find a vessel whos company owner allowes volunteers to work on his boat as general vessel attendant do you think i will need a mmd i read the coast guard rules 100 gross tons and above and employed

This depends on if your a filling a slot that requires a licensed crew member. If you are you will need a MMD. If you are acting as a deck hand that does not meet a licensed slot then you do not need a MMD.

Most sport fishing boat do not require licensed mates or engineers. If you are involved in the operation of the vessel you will need to be in the vessels drug testing program.
