Question by : What are the regulations regarding bringing betta fish from US to Canada?
I live in Canada and recently lost my two betta fish. I now have an empty 10 gallon and want to get a new one. I was looking into some fin varieties that I can’t find in Canada (halfmoon, double-tail, etc) and know that the Petco in Bellingham might have some. Are there any specific regulations that could prohibit me from taking a day trip to Petco, and then bringing a fish back into Canada?

Your not supposed to bring plants, animals and certian foods across the border because they may contain diseases that are not found in canada now so they don’t want them being brought here and causing an out break in the plant and animal populations here.

Google Alaska and fishing in Alaska. I was interested in that a while back (not fishing though, just the Alaska part), but all I did was read what I could find. I never actually moved. I don’t remember the site or I would post the link. Sorry!

no size, bag limit. no seasonal restrictions. just make sure what you are catching are in fact sand dabs. if you have a sack full of baby halibut, you’ll be in a heap of a mess of trouble if caught.

I’m going on a mission trip with my church this summer to Tanzania, and there is a day when I’m going to the beach. I wanna bring my spear fishing pole, but I’m not sure it will make it past security/customs and I don’t know what the regulations in the country are. what the heck are you talking about? pacific coast of?

the real codfish or the sabastes species that are called rockcod or rockfish? commercial or sport? where abouts on the pacific coast? the regulations in alaska are a lot different than the regulations in california.
